We are back from our annual MAF Papua family conference! I just wanted to write a quick post to let you all know that we are back safe and sound. The internet here has not really even been fast enough to get on here and post, much less upload pictures, so that is why I haven’t been on until now (we got back on Monday afternoon.) I have lots of pictures and will post them when I can!
We had a good time at family conference. It is rustic as always and not very easy to get a lot of sleep, but we had fun connecting with the people we don’t get to see very often – the ones that serve on other bases here in Papua. The girls also had a blast at VBS. The New Heights team runs the VBS for the kids, and the girls had a wonderful time! For the first time since we’ve been attending family conference, both girls attended VBS for the entire morning – no tears or anything! They had so much fun with their “teachers” and all the activities that were planned for them.
We are getting settled back into life here in Wamena and trying to get all the laundry done… not easy when the transformer blows only a load and a half into the mountain of laundry! Thankfully we were able to get it replaced and resume tackling the laundry again… but the weather has been cloudy and rainy all day… not great for getting the laundry dried! After about a month of clouds and rain here in Wamena, we were shocked when the weather dried up a couple days before conference and we enjoyed sunny weather and blue skies for most of the week! It did rain for the last couple days of conference, but we enjoyed the warmth and sunshine while it lasted! (Pyramid is in the same valley as Wamena, so generally they have the same weather) It seems we are back to the clouds and rain again now!
Well, I will try to get those pictures posted when I can. Gotta share the experience with you all! 🙂
