Here in Papua we can only get white rice and white flour. So, I was pretty happy when I found out there is a lady in Sentani who has connections and gets brown rice and whole wheat flour from Papua New Guinea every so often! I have been ordering rice and flour from her every once in a while, but ran out of brown rice recently and bought some more.
This was the rice I got, and I just had to share the packaging with you:
Doesn’t it just make you want to say “Good rice!” with a cheesy grin on your face and two thumbs up?!
But the back is even better:
Sorry for the glare, I couldn’t get a super-good picture for you. But at the top, there are directions for cooking the rice…in Tok Pisin (New Guinea Pidgin), I am guessing! Any of my friends in PNG can help me out with the translation? 🙂
And then at the bottom right there is some good information…
“The best way to cook Good Brown rices.”
“Brown rice are long grain rice the best mixes”
and please note, it’s important enough to put a brown box around…
“After cook you will get more rice and nice soft rice.”
Love it! Hope it make you smile, too! 🙂
